If you are on this page, that means you are a Grand Prize Pledger – Congratulations!
Below you’ll find the list of tasks you’ll have to complete in addition to your Grand Prize Pledge.
Once you’ve completed your tasks, you’ll submit your Grand Prize Check-in during the check-in period (Saturday March 5 noon EST – Sunday March 6 noon EST) to enter to win the Grand Prize!
The link to the check-in form is in the Grand Prize instructions you received via email. If you no longer have those instructions, Bariatric Foodie staff cannot resend them.
Grand Prize Week Tasks
Below are tasks you’ll need to complete to qualify for the “Winner Takes All” Grand Prize.
We suggest you take on one task a day for the five weekdays of this week, but in reality how you complete these is entirely up to you!
But you MUST complete these tasks before submitting your Grand Prize Check-in. Grand Prize Check-in opens on Saturday, March 5 at noon EST/9 a.m. PST and closes on Sunday, March 6 at noon EST/9 a.m. PST. Remember there will be no reminders for you to check in. Use whatever means necessary to remember to do it!
Like/Follow & Thank all Sponsors
The sponsors make the Pledge possible. So we need to support them! Here’s how you complete this task:
- If you are on Facebook, like or the sponsors’ pages (see list below)
- If you feel comfortable doing so, leave a note on their wall thanking them for sponsoring the Bariatric Foodie Pledge. (Must contain the words “Bariatric Foodie Pledge.” If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a note on their wall, see #3.)
- If you are not on social media, you may simply go to the sponsors’ websites, locate their email contact information and email them a note of thanks. When you send the email, send it from your own email account and be sure to copy [email protected]. You may also choose this option if you are uncomfortable leaving a message on the sponsors’ walls.

Log Every Bite of Food You Take for One Day
You can do this via an online food tracking site or just plain pen/paper. For the purposes of this competition it is most important that you calculate the calories, carbs and protein for each meal you eat that day! You will be asked a question about your intake on the check-in form. (Meaning you do NOT have to send us your actual food diary. In fact, please don’t!)
Complete the “Goals that Succeed” worksheet
Click the below button to access the “Goals that Succeed” worksheet. Please note it is a PDF file so you will need Adobe Acrobat reader to open it. Since you cannot directly type into the worksheet, if you can’t print it out, just answer the questions on the worksheet on plain paper. You will be asked questions about this worksheet on the check-in form. (Meaning you do NOT have to send us your completed form. In fact, please don’t!)
Take Nik’s Taco Casserole recipe and calculate the nutritional information
For the purposes of this exercise you should calculate the nutrition for the TOTAL recipe. (Meaning you do not have to break it down into servings.) Bariatric Foodie offers guidance on how to do this. Use it! Also please calculate the nutrition of the recipe as it is printed. You will be asked questions about the nutrition information you compiled on the check-in form. (Meaning you do NOT have to send us anything related to how you worked out the nutrition information. In fact, please don’t!)
Tell us what are your three biggest takeaways from participating in the Bariatric Foodie Pledge?
On the check-in form you’ll be asked to share your three biggest takeaways from participating in the Bariatric Foodie Pledge. Your submission should be at least 100 words to be valid. You’ll be asked to share this on the check-in form. (Meaning you don’t have to send us the answers to these questions ahead of time. In fact, please don’t!)
